Which calculator should you use?
Every tool on this site answers one specific question with plain arithmetic — no accounts, no market-data feed, and no forecast dressed up as a fact. You supply the numbers; the calculator shows the result and the working. Here is how the tools divide up.
You already hold a position
If a stock has fallen and you are deciding whether to buy more, the stock average calculator gives your new average cost — and, working backwards, the exact number of shares needed to reach a target average. Once you know that average, the break-even calculator adds brokerage and charges to show the price at which you stop losing money, and the target price calculator turns a profit goal into the price you need to sell at.
You are planning contributions
For money you invest on a schedule, the SIP calculator compounds each monthly contribution to a maturity value; the lumpsum calculator does the same for a single deposit. If you are drawing money out rather than putting it in, the SWP calculator shows how long a corpus survives a fixed monthly withdrawal while the remainder keeps growing.
You are measuring what happened
To compare investments held for different lengths of time, convert them to an annual rate with the CAGR calculator. Before you sell, the capital gains calculator estimates short- and long-term tax on the exit, and the dividend calculator projects income from a holding with or without reinvestment.
You are trading options
The Greeks calculator prices a contract with Black-Scholes and returns Delta, Gamma, Theta and Vega. The strategy builder combines legs into a payoff diagram with break-evens and maximum loss, and the hedging helper sizes the protective puts needed to defend a portfolio to a chosen floor.
Common questions
Are these investment calculators really free?
Yes. Every calculator on Stock Averager is free with no signup, no trial and no paywalled results. The tools run in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server or stored against an account.
Do the calculators use live market prices?
No. There is no price feed and no ticker lookup — you enter the prices yourself. That keeps every result reproducible: the same inputs always give the same numbers, whether you run it today or in six months.
Which currencies are supported?
Ten: US dollar, euro, pound sterling, Japanese yen, Indian rupee, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, Swiss franc, Chinese yuan and Singapore dollar. Your currency is detected on the first visit and can be changed at any time from any calculator.
What is averaging down, and when does it make sense?
Averaging down means buying more of a stock after the price falls, which lowers your average cost per share and reduces the recovery needed to break even. It works when the decline is temporary and the business is sound; it compounds the damage when the decline reflects a real deterioration. The rule of thumb is to average down only on a position you would happily open again today at the current price.
How accurate are the SIP and lumpsum projections?
The arithmetic is exact, but it is only ever as good as the return you assume. These tools compound a fixed rate; real markets do not deliver a fixed rate. Treat the output as a planning estimate under a stated assumption, and try a pessimistic rate alongside your base case.
Is any of this investment advice?
No. Everything here is educational. The calculators do arithmetic on numbers you supply and the guides explain concepts — neither accounts for your circumstances, tax position or risk tolerance. Speak to a licensed adviser before acting on any figure.
Building an agent or integration?
Every calculator is also a free JSON endpoint — no API key, no signup. Read the API documentation or load the OpenAPI 3.1 spec straight into your function-calling tools. Every page also serves Markdown from the same URL — send Accept: text/markdown or append .md to any path, starting at /llms.txt.
